finally jumping on the coco bun bandwagon

My best friend introduced me to Lee Tilghman, aka Lee From America, a few weeks ago. I've been spending a lot of time reading her different blog posts and after reading her post about coco buns I knew I had to try it out.

It's a simple idea and I've heard of it before. I know I'm late to the party on this one but Lee's blog post convinced me that I need to hop on the bandwagon. Better late than never.

A coco bun is just a coconut oil mask for you hair.

The ingredients? Just one: coconut oil.

All you have to do is take some coconut oil (Lee recommends organic, unrefined coconut oil. I found some at Aldi for 4 bucks!) and run it through your hair. Start at your scalp and massage it in and then work your way down to the end of your hair. You want to make sure every strand of hair is covered!

You want to do this 24 hours before you plan to wash your hair. I did mine on Sunday morning so I could wash my hair this morning.

After you make sure your hair is covered all you have to do is twist your hair in a bun and go on with your day. 24 hours later all you have to do is wash it out.

So how was my first coco bun experience?

I LOVED it!

I woke up this morning and washed my hair. I made sure to really scrub my hair to get all of the coconut oil out.

When I got out of the shower I ran my hands through my hair and it felt AMAZING. My hair feels super soft and healthy just after one use. My hair tends to feel very damaged because I straighten and blow dry my hair a lot. I have tried different sprays and shampoos in the past to help with my damaged hair. I never though to try something as simple as coconut oil!

This girl would 10/10 recommend trying out a coco bun!
