Last year I discovered bullet journaling and I'm honestly not sure how I survived before.

For those of you who don't know what the hell bullet journaling is, allow me to explain. Bullet journaling is a way to organize just about every aspect of your life! So far I'm using mine as a planner to keep track of what I need to do on a daily basis, books I want to read, my mood, and my 5 year goals. I plan to add more pages as I see fit.

First I map out the month as a whole.

I use different color dots to indicated things like classes, work shifts, and birthdays for each day of the month. This is a quick way to map things out without having to write out everything. Just a quick red dot shows that I have a class on that day! I also write out any "to-do's" I need to accomplish, goals I want to reach, and events I have for the month on the page next to my calendar! This is a nice and organized way to look at my entire month and flip back to whenever I need to.

After I map out my month as a whole I make my daily planner.

Every morning when I wake up I open up my bullet journal and I write out everything I have going on that day and everything I have to accomplish. I use circles to indicate an event and a dot indicates a task I need to complete. This has been a LIFESAVER for me!! I am a full-time college student with a job and I attempt to have a social like, AKA I'm super busy. Since I'm usually running around like a crazy woman all day I love having something I can turn to that I know will have everything written down I need to do. I have been so much more on top of things since I started bullet journaling. Also, having a place to write down everything I need to remember has helped my scattered brain remember things that are important!

I also have pages that I use to keep track of my mood, the books I want to read, and my five year goals! It has been fun to design these pages. It's also super convenient that I have everything I like to keep track of all in one place! I used to have notes in my phone and random pieces of paper that I wrote down titles of books I wanted to read. More often than not I would lose the pieces or paper or forget about the note in my phone. Now I have every book I want to read in one list! Also being able to write down my five year goals have helped me visualize them better. They aren't just things I think about anymore, they are written down and having them written down makes me want to accomplish them even more. I don't want to look back in five years and not be able to check anything off. I want to be able to check all of them off!

My bullet journal has really helped me stay more organized. As I mentioned before, being a college student means my brain is fried most of the time and I survive off little sleep and a lot of caffeine so being able to keep track of everything has been a huge help!

Pro Tip: Spend the extra money and get a journal that is designed for bullet journaling!!! (they have dots instead of lines on the pages). Seriously, this helps so much!! I used to just use a regular journal but I quickly learned it's much easier to just spend a few extra bucks and get the nice journal.
